"In 2022, Shannon did an amazing presentation to the Women of Winnipeg about her journey from the corporate world into the world of equine coaching. Her story resonated with so many of us, and shortly after the presentation, I signed up and spent a day with four other individuals at Red Chair Ranch. I have never had an experience like this in my life. It was a profound and life-changing experience! Shannon has found her calling and what she has created is a gift to all of us!"

What would it take a for seasoned C-Suite executive to leave the prestige, power, and pay of a position many professionals work their entire careers for? For Shannon Leppky, it was a gut feeling that it was time for a big change. And what a change it was in 2017, when Shannon left a 9-year career at a Crown Corporation, that included a rapid ascent , where the next step was to be a likely CEO, to another eventual step living and working on a ranch with horses — with no prior experience having lived as an urbanite.
Ultimately what followed was a difficult, relentless, yet challenging and rewarding journey, with a few humbling detours along the way. That path took Shannon from the corporate office chair to the Adirondack red chair, borne from yet another significant gut moment at the family cottage. Something powerfully symbolic about the two Adirondack chairs on the cottage’s dock caught Shannon’s attention and has never let go. They’ve became not only her brand, but they also represent the safe and trusted space of Red Chair. Little did Shannon know that it would culminate in creating Red Chair Ranch, located in Cooks Creek, Manitoba.
As part of her journey to vision an inspirational setting in a bucolic location that facilitates clarity for all who enter, intuitively guided by her sentient herd (Annie, Blaze, Jack, and Kiante), Shannon had to endure exhausting setbacks to develop all the infrastructure necessary to support her dream, and by extension, the dreams of others. Following a pandemic, record flooding, and record snowfalls, the vision of Red Chair Ranch persevered, an extraordinary by-product of Shannon’s ability to influence her own emotions to lead herself to create a truly unique space where people benefit from exploring clarity about who they are, what they are doing, and the influence they want to have in the world. It’s a space that Shannon herself decided to embrace, and what a journey it has been to get there, all with clarity .
